world of work
Cadbury recognises the importance of work experience for both students and employers.
Work experience provides young people with the chance to experience “real” work and helps them to prepare for the journey into the real world of work.
For any organisation to remain successful and grow, it must always look to the future. It must have in place a plan that includes recruitment, training and development of people from different backgrounds and with varying qualifications, skills and abilities.
Each Cadbury site handles work experience places in a different way. It may be handled internally though programmes such as the World of Work or through partnerships such as Education Business Links.
Students undertaking work experience at Cadbury use this record form, which may be useful to students completing work experience elsewhere.
We hope to add more of our work experience resources to the site in the near future.
The World of Work Project
The World of Work Project is a Cadbury Trebor Bassett programme which has been developed in partnership with schools and local education authorities around the country.
The main purpose of the programme is to support young people in developing the employability skills they require for the world of work.
The programme consists of “action days”, where young people are asked to troubleshoot a manufacturing problem, giving them real-life experience. They find out about manufacturing processes, Human Resources and recruitment processes and Health & Safety in the work place. They also get to experience a factory tour.
The programme aims to take learners on a journey that develops both their skills and maturity within the context of a real working environment like Cadbury. The programme fit well with the new diplomas and will provide young people with a good foundation for the world of work generally and more specifically with industry standard training schemes.
