feedback
No one works completely alone, and no matter what job you do, your decisions and actions impact upon other’s within the company. Therefore, to fully review your own performance at work, it’s important to get comments and suggestions from those around you.
Feedback given by colleagues and other people who work with an employee as part of the 360 system is sometimes called “peer assessment”. Typically, those asked to provide feedback might be people who rely on the worker to give them information or services so that they can do their own job properly.
The feedback provider is asked to rate the employee’s performance. Here are some statements that might be used to rate their colleague:
For each statement choose a rating from 1 to 5 (where 1 is very low and 5 is very high).
- Communicates well with others
- Keeps to schedules
- Can inspire others to produce good work
- Is innovative in solving problems and seeking new solutions
- Sets him/herself plans and regularly reviews them to ensure the work is on track
In addition to "rating the employee's work", colleagues and managers might also be asked to comment on specific aspects of the employee’s performance. Typical comments on a feedback report might include:
General comments:
"This employee has been an inspiring team leader. She encourages all members of her team to work enthusiastically and she shows great commitment to all of her projects. However, this enthusiasm sometimes results in her taking on too much work herself which means that projects can fall behind schedule. I suggest that this employee needs to review the way she delegates projects and manages her time.
